Volunteer Park Engagement Session: Tori & Andres

I arrived to Volunteer Park in the Capital Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Wa a little early. With an iced americano in my right hand and a peanut butter cookie in my left, I sat underneath a shady tree and really took in my surroundings. I loved what I saw: beautiful greenery, flowers in bloom and a gorgeous light casting down from the clouds overhead. Tori, Andres and I knew that the theme of this session should be the grass, the trees and the lush vegetation that you could only find in this beautiful state.

While enjoying the wonderful floral aromas, Tori and Andres quickly clung on to each other, their love blossoming in front of my camera.  What an amazing day.

I have the honor of photographing Tori and Andres’ wedding day in August of 2014.

Seattle Fine Art Engagement Photographer: Lili and Matt at Kerry Park

He touches her cheek and gazes into her eyes while the warm sun shines overhead. She laughs, slightly shy of intimacy so publicly displayed while he pulls her in closer. There was never a question; their souls had found each other and were committed to never letting go. As he got down on his knee, leaving her stunned, the universe applauded itself – knowing that this was right. This was true love.

Tulips+Star Wars+New Friendships

This past week has been a whirlwind! Talks of working with new designers, teaming up with new videographers and of course, shooting as much as possible  I do have to admit, having my usual willingness to buckle down and cross dozens of tasks off of my daily to-do list has been much more difficult this week due to the amazing weather we have been having.

I always feel like I have defend Seattle to all of our friends and family that live in California and if they only knew how amazingly beautiful it is here in Washington during a day like today is. I keep staring out my window wondering if anyone else agrees that it should be mandatory to take a day off when the weather looks like this.

By the way, I visited the Tulip Festival at Mount Vernon last week:

Here are this weeks lows and highs (since we like to leave off on a positive note)

Lows:

  •  It’s so nice outside and I’m not outside.
  • My husband Devin has never seen the Disney version of Hercules - the  best movie of all time.
  • I have this odd need to make cupcakes right this second.
  • I probably need a new computer.

Highs:

  • It’s gonna be a bright and sunshin-y day!
  • I have a photo project I’m going to start working on today. It’s one of those “just for fun” projects and I can’t wait to share it with everyone! (It’s going to be just silly!)
  • I got some new equipment this week and am waiting impatiently for it to come to my doorstep.
  • My first wedding of the year  is in 15 days!!!!!
  • I’m so excited about this new brand update. I really feel like this is the one and I’ll never need to change it again. Ever.
  • I got Devin to agree to do a photo session with me. He hates being in photographs therefore this is a big accomplishment.
  • One of our good couple friends said they were coming into Seattle this summer <3
  • We will be attending a duel Star Wars Cinco de Mayo Party tomorrow evening.

Happy Friday!

Nick and Callie’s Woodland Park Zoo Engagement Session: Seattle Fine Art Engagement Photographer

Deep in the African Savannah  a lioness prowls. She is fierce yet beautiful as her strong muscles allow her to make magnificent leaps and kills with ease. I watched as Callie held tightly to Nick during our time shooting together, her fingers never relaxing as she gripped his hand. He would look back at her and smile because every time she laughed she would scrunch her nose. Nick made sure to squeeze tightly whenever his arms fell upon her waist and never miss an opportunity when I suggested that he kiss her.

Callie never had to prowl like a lioness; yet her radiance cannot go unnoticed. Nick, however, found his true love and will never look back, always protecting and holding onto her.
